LETTER TO ALL OUR CHILDREN.

My parents are such a joy in our lives, and I wanted to share a letter that my Dad had written many years ago shortly after Christmas at their house. This letter is one reason why I will always have a wonderful Christmas when it is spent with them. Our soldier will be the only thing missing around that table this year. It won't be the same without you Michael. You will be in our hearts. We are so proud of you. Thanks for serving our country and protecting our freedom.

"To all our children

Do you ever wonder what makes Mom and Dad happy? Do you ever wonder if you have made Mom and Dad happy? Just what does it really take to make Mom and Dad happy? Santa Clause? No. Gifts? No. It’s love and happiness especially when we can see it in you. The most wonderful gift in the world at Christmas, other than Jesus Christ, is having our children at home with us and be able to enjoy living together as we have this Christmas. Saturday night, Christmas Eve, as we all sat around the kitchen table, I leaned back in my chair and wondered what our score card or report card would look like if we were graded by the joy and happiness shown in our four children. I looked around that table and I saw our report card. Four A’s. Everyone was happy, no doubt about it. I don’t know how many times last week that I told someone "if you don’t believe there is a Santa Clause,, just be at my house." Let me tell you, Santa came to our house and I knew he would. Sitting around that table with our family was enough Christmas to last us a lifetime. Not only around that table, but the whole week-end, was filled with love and joy. All our Christmas’s have been filled with love, but this one was really special. My hope is that all our Christmas’s will always be that way. We love all of you and thanks for making this the best Christmas ever.

With Love

Mom and Dad"

This letter proudly hangs on my wall in a beautiful frame, and I still shed tears each and every time I read it.

DAD AND MOM, thanks for being the best parents that the four of us children could ever have.

oh, absolutely! sharing the thoughts of mothers and fathers everywhere... all we want is for our children to know love and be happy... and it is the same everywhere... for every [normal] parent. You are truly blessed, Stacy.

Christmas really is about family. It is about the wonderful relationships you build and maintain as your children grow into adulthood. I am now a Nana (how did THAT happen?!?) and I am more thankful than ever to see my family grow all around me and overflow my home for the holidays. May your holiday be happy and joyous and may your own soldier come home safe and sound!

Many happy returns,
Sher

Stacy,

That is an awesome letter and you blessed to have such awesome parents. If more parents these days were like that the world would be a much better place.

Thanks so much for sharing that with us.

Thanks for posting it. You christmas will go by and then next years will come and then it will seem like yesterday that he was gone!

Wow what a letter! As a parent myself of 4 children I can truly say I agree 100%. I never understood this until I was a parent myself. Then again, there is so much I thought I understood but didn't. If I had received this letter I would have it framed, too! You and yours are truly blessed and I am blessed to have read this special letter. Thank you for making me smile!
