BANANAS IN THE SOUTH

This does not happen very often. It has been 4 years since we have had any fresh bananas. We still have a long ways to go, but since they have made it through the first month, we should have bananas ready to eat by the first of December. We will have to bring them inside before the first frost comes. The longer they are able to stay on the tree the better, so we are hoping that the cold weather will hold off long enough for them to get bigger.

THIS IS ALL I DO NOW A DAYS...

It does not look like I will have a life outside of school this semester. It seems like all I do is study. We are having a test on Tuesday (part of it we were brought home to brief several cases), along with all kinds of homework that requires hours and hours of research. I can honestly say that I have read and read and read, and still have not got them all briefed yet. I am making some progress, it just seems like it take forever to do these briefs. I can actually say that I have learned quite a lot over these last three weeks.

It is kind of hard to study with these two holy terrors hanging around. I forgot what it was like to have kittens around. It is like having a herd of cattle in my house at times.

I took the day off today, and promised myself that I would do no research/homework or studying for my test whatsoever, and spent the day at my parents house. It was great. I stopped by the meat market and picked us up some of the finest ribeye's and Dad grilled them for us. He even had me a pound cake baking in the oven when I arrived. The joy of having a Dad who is absolutely the very best cook in the world, and I am not just saying that either. I am so glad that I decided at a very early age to learn to cook from him, and I would not trade those days for nothing in the world. He was a great teacher.

I LOVE YOU DAD...(and Mom)

STUDY...STUDY...STUDY...

This is the first week of the fall semester, and I am already stressed with all the reading and homework that has to be turned in next Tuesday night. I will be so glad when I have all this school behind me, but at the rate I am going it will take me forever and a day to finish up. Looking at the bright side of this degree, it will mean more money, but money is not everything, nor can it always make you happy. Actually, I am very happy with my salary where it is, just doing this school for my boss.

Instead of dreaming about sweet nothings after finally dozing off last night, I was dreaming of primary and secondary law and which is mandatory and which is persuasive.

I am off to have dinner with my high school principal and his wife, so maybe, just maybe I will come back very refreshed and have a whole new outlook on Legal Research.

WHAT A RELAXING WEEKEND.

First weekend that I have not had to do any canning. It was great to just relax and do absolutely nothing at all. Just one problem. It was not long enough.

I did manage to go to the post office and mail a good ole Mississippi care package off to AWTM and then headed out to buy a few groceries.

The rest of my weekend was spend going from the couch to the recliner. Lots of rest and lots of sleep. Don't know the last time that I was able to slept off and on all day long and then still manage to get in the bed at 8:00 last night and sleep all night long. I feel refreshed and hopefully I will be good to go for another week or so.

Hopefully the contractor will get started on the repairs the first of next week. I don't know how much longer I can deal with 1/2 of my house out of order.

P.S. Nothing better than knowing that you made a friend smile today.
