THE NEW RIDE.
Yes this is his new TOY. Almost the price of a new car. He deserves it. I will just never get any rest after he comes home now. I will worry every time he gets on it. Oh, and it will cut off at like 170 mph. Glad to know that. Talk about gray hair. I will really need to start covering it now. LOL...
I will need to keep my blog after this deployment is over, as the title will still fit, just need to change the word soldier to maybe crazy fool. He wants me to ride it. I am terrified of these things, so no need to even buy an extra helment for me.
He is only riding it in the yard for now, and very slow. I am sure the speed will pick up in a few days. He has already taken the written test and passed, but they only give out a permit until he takes the three day course, whifch he will do when he gets back.
This motorcycle will reside in a bedroom, yes in one of my bedrooms in my house until he gets back home for good. Can't believe he talked me into that one, but he did. So between the motorcycle and new golf clubs, he is good to go. Just trying to figure out how he is going to carry the golf clubs on this crotch rocket. I am sure that he will figure it out.

mine has one of those... it's being kept by a friend of the family near his base while he's deployed... Mine admits to having had his crotch rocket up to 130 "so far" (oh, Lordy!) while his friend drove my son's car next to him (oh, Lordy, Lordy!) But he has a helmet and leathers... no comfort to me and they'll be little protection at 100mph+...
as for storing it in the house, I assume the gas tank will be drained completely before it moves indoors?
You know what they say about boys -- the older they get, the more expensive the toys!
That is great. Hey they are only young once. Dan is always telling me about his plans. They don't include a motorcycle. Whew! My other two did the motorcycle thing to me. I say mom has a little bit of a soft spot for her boy. I mean, if you are turning one of your bedrooms into a garage...need I say more LOL I love it.
Dear Husband surprised me with a Harley on his arrival to the states....yep I worry every time he gets on it.....does he deserve it...you betcha.
Stacy, you sound like me...I have been there and done that...your just a normal Mom type gal. ;)
ooh I love the color, hehe
Is that a Yamaha R1? I used to have an R6 before I got my current bike, a Suzuki. I have a picture of mine when I took my daughter for a ride (http://www.soldiersperspective.us/?p=514). I've had mine up to 156 so far, but not with her on it. I won't go over 100 when she's there. Nice bike though. I love Yamahas, they just don't make a 1300 like I wanted.
Too bad ya'll aren't in California, I'm organizing a ride to raise money for soldier and family support organizations that take care of deployed troops on 28 Sep.
