MISSISSIPPI MARINE KILLED IN IRAQ

A part of my heart is filled with sorry today after learning that another Mississippi soldier has been killed in Iraq. CPL Dustin Jerome Lee, MP with the K-9 Unit which is attached to the 314th "G" Battery, 4th Platoon, US Marines. of Quitman, Mississippi was killed on Wednesday in Iraq in a mortar attack on his base.

The family has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard and we are standing by to render honors to this warrior.

My sincere condolences to the family and friends of CPL Lee. May you rest in peace. You will not be forgotten. You are and will remain a True American Hero.

I'm so sorry. We lost a young man from our Brigade on Friday. It is so painful.

What manner of man is this native son of Mississippi willing to lay down his life for me? I am humbled and in awe of him. Tears already flow hard as I read more and more of one of our own lost in the protection of my liberty.

To Mr. and Mrs. Lee, to his brother, Cameron, his sister, Madison, to his extended family, his friends, to those in Quitman who knew him and to his fellow Marines still fighting the fight, I pray on my knees that our Father will touch you and show His tender mercy upon you in these terrible days to come. If our standing with you might take away even a fraction of your sorrow, I will consider my own tiny contribution worthwhile and perhaps worthy of such a great young man.

Cpl Lee. Dustin, my friend,
Tho I never knew you personally in this life, my soul knows you as a fellow soldier and as a true and faithful friend. And my heart aches in your passing. But I know you are with the Fallen Heroes of our past and our present. They welcome you home and escort you to the feet of our Heavenly Father. What can our Lord say but, "Well done, Dustin. For no greater love..."

I will be there for you, Dustin. And I shall never, ever forget.

Semper Fi.
