MISSISSIPPI SOLDIER KILLED IN AFGHANISTAN
Sgt. Taurean T. Harris, 22 years old form Liberty, Mississippi, was killed by a roadside bomb in Kala Gush on August 2, 2007. Along with his mother, father and three brothers, Sgt. Harris also is survived by 22-month-old daughter.
He was assigned to the 202nd Military Intelligence Battalion, 513th Military Intelligence Brigade based at Fort Gordon, Georgia. He had been in Afghanistan since December and was due to return home again around Christmas.
Including Harris' death Thursday, more than 55 military personnel from Mississippi or with strong ties to the state have died in Iraq or Afghanistan.
The Mississippi Patriot Guard have been invited to escort and honor this fallen HERO to his final resting place on Saturday, August 11, 2007 @ 11:00 at the Homochitto Baptist Association Building, Liberty, MS with burial in the Jeruselum Cemetary in Liberty, MS.
