MSGT William J. Davidson's Funeral

The Mississippi Patriot Guard Riders were invited today to attend the funeral of MSGT William J. Davidson.

MSGT Bill Davidson was one of the early Special Forces Qualified. He qualified in the very early ‘60’s.  Before the famous Green Beret hats were used. 

He served 2 tours in Vietnam. His first tour was in the 5th Special Forces Group Detachment A 426 (ABN). His second tour was with the 101st Airborne. He has 3 Purple Hearts and 2 Bronze medals. He also served with the 10th SSG in Germany and the 7th SSG at Fort Bragg. MSGT Davidson retired in the 3rd Infantry (Cotton Bailers) in Germany.

This was my Father, he was a true hero of this country and of my family. The last 10 years of his life he suffered from kidney failure. I as his youngest son had the priveilige of donating a kidney to him in the hope of making his life a little easier. In the end he died from this disease. He is always going to be a hero in my eyes.
