The long lost package has finally made it...

When I answered the phone with the caller ID only showing “call”, I knew it was him. The first words from him were “you are going to never believe what I received today”, and I said what? My lost package. This package was mailed the first of February, and I had just about giving up on him ever getting it. He was so excited. Just one more reason to keep sending those packages.

There is nothing else in this world better than hearing his voice. It had been almost two long weeks since I had spoken with him on the phone. We had a lot to catch up on.

He gave me a name of a soldier that has not received any mail. I will make a special trip to take care of this soldier. That just breaks my heart to know that some of them are not getting any packages. Michael says that this guy likes peanut butter, so peanut butter he will have.

Stacy, I have 3 guys in my son's unit that we have "adopted" because they get little or no mail... and we always overpack our son's boxes so that there is always something to share... Before they left, I asked the 1SG (First Sarge) to keep an eye out for anyone not getting mail and my sisters and friends are sending all kinds of things to their new "sons".

BTW, have you discovered the FLAT RATE boxes from the Post Office? No matter how much you stuff in them, it only costs $7.70 to mail -- and they're shipped Priority! They're smaller than boxes I would normally use, but even sending 2 is cheaper than some of the bigger boxes sent by weight. We are getting our money's worth!
