WHAT A SURPRISE...

YES, MY SOLDIER ARRIVED TODAY. I WILL TAKE HIM WHENEVER, EVEN IF HE IS HOME TWO DAYS EARLIER THAN EXPECTED. WHEN THAT PHONE RANG, I WAS JUST EXPECTING HIM TO TELL ME THAT HE WAS IN IRELAND, BUT OH NO, HE WAS IN DALLAS. HE WAS BORDING THE PLANE FOR JACKSON. OH MY GOSH...I HAD LESS THAN ONE HOUR TO GET TO THE AIRPORT. I WAS FREAKING OUT. I WAS NOT READY FOR HIM AT HOME. I RUSHED OUT OF THE OFFICE, AND HEADED TO THE AIRPORT, TO LEARN THAT THE FLIGHT HAD BEEN DELAYED UNTIL 1215...

THERE WERE 16 SOLDIERS ON THIS FLIGHT. OUT OF THE 16, THERE WAS ONLY MYSELF AND THE COL.'S WIFE THERE TO GREET THEM. THEY HAD NO TIME IN KUWAIT OR IRELAND TO GIVE ANY WARNING THAT THEY WERE HEADED HOME.

I HAD ABSOLUTELY NO TIME WHATSOEVER TO CALL AND LET ANYBODY KNOW THAT HE WAS ARRIVING. I CALLED HOME TO LET MARCUS KNOW THAT HE WAS ARRIVING, AND HE HAD WORKED ALL NIGHT, SO I WOKE HIM UP. HE DECIDED THAT HE WOULD NOT TRY TO MAKE IT TO THE AIRPORT, INSTEAD HE WOULD PREPARE FOR THE HOMECOMMING. THE ONLY THING I HAD LEFT TO DO WAS HANG THE WELCOME HOME BANNER.

SO FOR NOW, THIS IS ALL I HAVE TIME FOR. I WILL POST MORE TOMORROW. I PROMISE. I ALREADY HAVE TONS OF PICTURES, AND HE HAS ONLY BEEN HOME FOR LIKE 4 HOURS.

Oh Stacy, boy can you keep a secret. I would of had it blabbed all over the net if it was Dan coming home. I am grinning from ear to ear and I got that lump in my throat. You lucky lady. Hug and kiss him and thank him from me. Thank God he is home. Enjoy your boy and tell us all about it when you get a chance. God bless you and yours.

CONGRATS!! I am so happy for you! It must be so wonderful having him home at last.I can't wait until my sister comes home from Iraq. I am surprised, like many others, that you were able to not say anything about his homecoming until now. My sister isn't coming home until November and I have told everyone about it. Well enjoy him being home! I am soooooooooooo happy for you! And for him!

yeah!!!! No wonder you are having a great day. I would say great is probably a total understatement. Tell him please how much I appreciate all he has been doing, will do, and all the sacrifices that comes along with that. Hugs and kisses to you sweet cheeks!;)
