WOW!!! It was exactly 10:09 a.m. one year ago today that I was sitting at my desk trying to fix my bosses blackberry, when my cell phone rang, and on the other end was guess who...Michael. I can remember his exact words as if they were said only yesterday. "What are you doing?" All I could say was that I am waiting for you to call me from Ireland... Then the next question from him was "What are you going to be doing in about an hour?" I think I said what do I need to be doing, and that is when he says "Can you pick me up at the airport at 11:20 a.m.

My heart was racing 100 mph by then. I quickly left my boss a note, as he was in Court, and then I was off to the airport. His plane ended up being delayed until almost 12:15 p.m. He was exhausted, but so happy to be in Mississippi.

As I look back at that day one year ago, I honestly don't know how we made it through the first half of his deployment. It was tough to say the least, then we somehow managed to make it through the last leg of the deployment. He has been home now for 7 months, and we are sure hoping that there is not another deployment in the near future for him.

My post one year ago today...

Sweet memories. We had a few happy moments during that year and that was surly one of them. I bet the next one was when he came home for good? Thank goodness it is all behind us, and I hope it stays there.
Have a good day!
