The talk at Wal-Mart today!!!
I apparently had not watched the weather report this morning before I headed out to Wally World (Wal-Mart) to buy my groceries. The conversations were not at all what I wanted to hear. These idiots are crazy...If they did not learn a lesson after Katrina, then they never will.
"You better buy your water now, there won't be any here come Monday"
"The hurricane is headed straight for Biloxi"
"The gas stations are already starting to back up"
"Have you filled your car up yet?"
According to the Wal-Mart shoppers, it will hit Biloxi, MS on Thursday, just two days after the first anniversary of Katrina. This is definately not what Mississippi needs. We still have not recovered from the last one. I could not handle living that close to the coast, 150 miles is close enough for me.
These folks are freaking out, and I am laughing my you know what off at them. I am prepared for the next hurricane, at least I think I am. LOL... After Katrina, and the almost two weeks without power and water, I definitely learned a few things, such as:
Generator - purchased
Candles - plenty of them
Gas - plenty of it providing no one has discovered our hiding place
Water - Nothing better than a nice warm shower, even in the summer
Ice (the thought of nothing cold to drink when it is 100 degree outside is very sad to me)
Batteries - purchased
PATIENTS -- Lots and Lots is an absolute must
The only thing that I have not purchased is a weather radio, but that is the least of my worries. While all the crazy folks are out and about freaking out buying up everything in the stores and spending all their hard earned money, I will be at home, kicked back, but with my Legal Research book in my lap. LOL. It feels like that book is attached to my lap.
Anyway, that is if for now. I won't be going back to Wal-Mart anytime soon I can promise you that.

People forget so easy, maybe it's a gift maybe it's a curse.
Good to have things ready and waiting for the events we all know can happen. Don't forget the canned beans. They store for a long time and they can provide a source of ammusement later. (something my dad always said to me as a child, lol)
Continued prayers...
Prayers going your way. I think you might be spared this time.
