Basketball, Basketball and old friends

What a long day...Basketball all day. My neice and nephew played at the Academy that Michael went to off and one all day long today.

Justin's game was so close. It was tied until the last 30 seconds of the game, and he made a mistake and cost them the game. He played a wonderful game, even with 4 fouls.

Lauren's team won there game, but not without a good fight. These 6th grade girls sure know how to end up on the floor of the court fighting for the ball. Lost of little cat fights with the girls.

The best part of the day for me was running into an old high school friend that I had not visited with in years. We both could not believe how long it had been since we were able to just sit and chat. He graduated from high school, went to college and moved away from Mississippi, just as I did some years ago, but for some odd reason, neither of us could stand the thought of not living in our home state.

So here we are almost 24 years later sitting in a high school gym trying to catch up on what has been going on in our lives. Gosh how time seems to just zoom by when you are talking about the good ole days. We had lots of those days too. His job requires him to do lots of traveling to high schools games in the state. What a job to have, going from one high school to another watching the kids play sports and getting paid for it.

We parted today with each of us assuring the other that it would not be such a long time before we get together the next time.

Now time to get back to painting...
