SEND OFF CEREMONY FOR THE 185TH
The Mississippi Patriot Guard was invited to attend the send off ceremony for the 1st Battalion, 185th Aviation, Task Force Griffin in Jackson. They will actually be pulling out in the morning headed to Indiana for 60-90 days of training before they head to Iraq. We will give them an escort in the morning out of Jackson that will end with a surprise. Hopefully I will be able to take pictures in the morning.
It just would not be a proper send off without the Adjutant General of Mississippi, Major General Harold A. Cross attending. Everyone keep their speeches short and sweet, as we were all out in the scorching heat.
Got to run. Canning season has just begun, and I am already dreading it this year. I am up to my elbows in tomatoes. I have to get the juicer out and get started. It's going to be a long night, but it will be worth it in the winter when it's soup time. There is no sweeter sound than the one when those lids pop.
