REST IN PEACE SOLDIERS

A Black Hawk went down in northern Iraq on Wednesday, killing all 14 U.S. soldiers aboard according to the military. This is the deadliest crash since January of 2005.

The UH-60 Black Hawk was part of a pair of helicopters on a nighttime operation when the crash occurred. The four crew members and 10 passengers who perished were assigned to Task Force Lightning. Identies of the 14 soldiers have not been released pending notification of relatives.

The mission took place near Tikrit. The deadliest crash occurred on January 26, 2005, when a CH-53 Sea Stallion transport helicopter went down during a sandstorm in Iraq, killing 31 soldiers.

3,721 members of the U.S. military have died since 2003.

My heart goes out to the families of these 14 soldiers...
