The 39th Annual Spirit of America Day

I have to say I am proud of my nephew. He received the Spirit of America Silver Medal Award at a ceremony at Smith Park in Jackson, Mississippi today at 12:30.  His speech was great. They will go to our State Capitol this afternoon at 4:00 p.m. and will be welcomed by the House of Representatives and then at 4:15 by the Senate.  The Banquet of Champions will take place tonight at 6:00 p.m. at a local Hotel in Jackson.

The Spirit of America Day XXXIX ideal is that sports and patriotism be entwined to strengthen both.  

The Spirit of America Day XXXIX salutes your spirit, which gives wings to all the values and virtues passed down form your forefathers and which you shall carry on to future generations. You honor America.  America honors you.
