INJURED SOLDIER IN MISSISSIPPI NEEDS OUR HELP.

I received an email yesterday from the Soldiers' Angels Foundation, that startes out with...

Dear Mississippi Friends –

We are emailing all of our friends in the wonderful state of Mississippi today for urgent assistance request for one of your own hometown heroes. This soldier (who lives in Blue Spring, Mississippi) went to Iraq to serve his country, came home wounded and is now having a very difficult time providing for his wife and 5 children.

THIS MISSISSIPPI FAMILY REALLY NEEDS OUR HELP.

This soldier has a temporary disability (40% and the Army will re-evaluate in November of 2006) from the Army and is struggling to make ends meet on a very very small amount of money each month. This soldier and his wife have 5 children, four girls ages 9,7,6 and 3 and one little boy age 1, and they were promised all kinds of things just before Christmas including presents for the kids, clothing, and shoes, but something apparently fell through the cracks and they received nothing from the organization that was to adopt them. They are living with his grandmother in a two bedroom mobile home with the children sleeping in the living room.

This family can use so much help in many different areas. They can basically use anything that we can give them. I am in the process of trying to get more details on exactly what their needs are, such as clothes sizes, toys, etc, and as soon as I jave that information I will certainly post it.

If you would like to make a cash donation, please send it Soldiers' Angels and they will direct 100% of the funds received for this family right back to them. Please make your check payable to "Soldiers' Angels" and mention in the memo section that this is for the HUMPHREYS FAMILY ASSISTANCE and send donations to:

Soldiers' Angels
Humpreys Family Assistance
1792 East Washington Blvd.
Pasadena, CA 91104

Or if you are in the Jackson, Mississippi area and would like to purchase some items for this family, I will be glad to get with you and make sure that these items get to the family. I have already secured donations to pay for all the postage for packages to be mailed to them.

Stacy--keep me posted on this; will put a post up on my blog & do what I can as well.

We'll need to figure out what we can do for the kids to remind them they are not forgotten given their limited space and if we can figure out a real way to help the parents back to their feet, that would be awesome.

Thanks for posting this.
